PUBLIC MEETING TO DEMAND LOUGHREA SWIMMING POOL

A public meeting is being organised by Councillor Michael Mogie Maher and Senator Ciaran Cannon to demand from the Government the delivery of a new swimming pool for the town of Loughrea.According to the Fine Gael representatives, the campaign to secure a swimming pool for Loughrea began sixteen years ago with the community raising over 200,000 pounds. Despite announcements and appointments of design and construction consultants by successive Governments and various Sport Ministers, no progress has ever been made.The meeting was originally scheduled for next Wednesday but the organisers have brought it forward to Monday, May 25th
