The results of an audit into the proposed new signage programme for the Lough Derg area will be announced at two public meetings in Portumna and Killaloe (pron Killa-loo) next week

The audit is being carried out on behalf of the Lough Derg Marketing Strategy Group, the LDMSG, and focuses on the need for tourism signage, interpretive signs and information boards in the areas of Galway, Clare and Tipperary

The results of the audit will be unveiled at a public meeting in Portumna Town and Country Hall on Monday (nov 5) from 5 to 6.30pm where the public will be able to give their opinion on the draft strategy.

The Killaloe signage strategy meeting takes place later that evening at 8

According to Chairman of the LDMSG, Joe MacGrath, the poor signage has been a major issue holding back Lough Derg's tourism potential
