PROPOSAL TO PUT CITY COUNCILLORS EXPENSES ONLINE

A city councillor is proposing a radical overhaul of how the public can access details of expenses paid to public representatives.Councillor Terry O' Flaherty is putting forward a proposal to the council that expenses paid to councillors be put on the Council's website every 3 months.These include expenses from Mayoral allowances, committees and boards within the Council.The independent councillor is also asking councillors to voluntarily submit details of any other expenses they receive from outside the Council.The matter is due to be discussed at a meeting of the Council on Monday.
