President opens cancer support centre

CANCER Care West last Thursday welcomed President Mary McAleese to officially open its state-of-the-art Cancer Support Centre in Westside.President McAleese warmly commended Cancer Care West and the huge community fundraising efforts that are vital to the services offered by the organisation.As part of her visit, the President heard first-hand the experiences of those attending the centre’s expressive art class.She greeted Cancer Care West board members, staff, volunteers and patients, and toured the drop-in centre and appointment rooms where a range of psychological, practical and complementary therapies are offered.
