POST MORTEM RESULTS ON NUI GALWAY STUDENT DUE TODAY

The results of a post-mortem on an NUI Galway student who died after being assaulted over the Christmas period are due today.

20 year old Andrew Dolan from County Leitrim passed away at Beaumont hospital in Dublin on Sunday.

Andrew Dolan had been studying biomedical science at NUI Galway.

The young man, who played rugby and GAA was attacked in the early hours of Friday December 23rd in Church View Avenue in Mullingar.

At least five people have been given the gift of life after his organs were donated.

Two men and a woman were arrested in relation to the incident and released without charge.
