PORTIUNCULA HOSPITAL CANCELS OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENTS AMID FLOODS

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has cancelled all outpatient appointments today as a result of flooding.

The HSE West has confirmed that patients are being notified individually and alternative appointments will be arranged

Motorists are being advised not to travel to Ballinasloe as the whole town has been closed off as a result of heavy floods.

Only large vehicles are able to get through many of the the floods, which are particularly bad at River street, Derrymullen and the main town centre.
