PLANS TO TRANSFORM 18TH CENTURY RAHOON HOUSE

A developer is seeking permission to turn a derelict 18th-century protected mansion in the city, into four apartments.Kenny Developments have sought planning permission from Galway City Council to knock the rear of Rahoon House and renovate and refurbish the rest. Kenny Developments say their proposal will guarantee the long-term survival of the house, which was first built in 1780. Galway city planners will announce their decision in the coming weeks.
