PIETA HOUSE TAKES NEXT STEP IN SECURING TUAM LOCATION

Suicide prevention centre Pieta House has taken the next step in securing a location for its services in Tuam town.

An application has been lodged with County Planners for a change of use at a house on Demesne, Sun street.

The campaign to open the first western base for Pieta House has been ongoing for almost two years.

However things took a major step forward some weeks ago when the suicide prevention centre announced it had located a suitable site in Tuam.

The facility will serve as a centre of excellence for Galway, Mayo and Roscommon and will employ up to 20 therapists who will run a 5 day service from 8am to 8pm.
