OPW DENIES RESPONSIBILITY FOR TUAM RIVER

The Office of Public Works has rebuked Tuam Town Council for saying they're responsible for removing litter from a Tuam river. A letter read at this week's meeting of the town board criticised members who said the work should be done by the OPW.The letter stated that an official from the OPW wanted to inform the members that the organisation was not required to remove litter from the River Nanny.It added that removal of such litter was a matter for the town council and not the OPW.
