Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil, Éamon Ó Cuív, looks set to stay in his position following a meeting of the Parliamentary Party today. [20/9]

It was unanimously decided at the meeting that the party would not support any candidate in the Presidential election.

Earlier today Fianna Fail Senator Labhras O'Murchú announced he's no longer looking to get on the ballot paper for the Presidential election.

Last week, Deputy Ó Cuív had threatened to quit at a controversial party meeting over Micheál Martin's stance on the Presidential strategy.

However, that row seems to have been resolved given that Deputy Ó Cuív seconded Deputy Martin's motion about not supporting a presidential candidate today.
