An NUI Galway study has revealed major differences in cancer screening uptake across income groups.

The research, carried out by the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics, also found that private health insurance contributed to the inequality.

The analysis is based on around 10 thousand adults who took part in the 2007 health study, and focused on the uptake of breast, prostate, colorectal and cervical screening.
