NUIG PROFESSORS GET PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENT

President Michael D Higgins has appointed two NUIG Professors to the Council of State, which is his advisory body.

Professor Gerard Quinn is the director of the Centre for Disability Law and Policy while Professor Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh lectured in history.

They are among the seven appointees to the Council of State today.

The others are Michael Farrell, Prof Deirdre Heenan, Judge Catherine McGuinness, Ruairí McKiernan and Sally Mulready.
