NUIG INCLUDES PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

The dream of going to college is about to become a reality for the first time for eight people with intellectual disabilities in Galway.
NUI Galway has just launched its new Going to College Project to support the civic engagement of people with intellectual disabilities.
The two year pilot project will see eight students study any subject they're interested in and participate in classes with their peers in the University.
They'll experience internships at NUIG, external work placements and gain a Certificate in Arts and Civic Studies.
