NUIG AND HSE WEST TO PILOT RURAL WORKPLACE HEALTH COURSE

A European e-learning course on workplace health in small and medium businesses is being piloted in the West this Spring. NUI Galway Health Promotion Department have teamed up with the HSE West to help employees of rurally-based enterprises develop the skills needed to promote workplace health and safety.Employers in the West are said to be becoming increasingly aware of the major role workplace health promotion can play in improving productivity and company culture. Ireland is one of just three countries in Europe taking part in the EC-funded pilot e-learning course, the other countries being Italy and Iceland. The course is being held over next April and May and participants can contact the HSE West to enrol.
