NUI Galway researchers to trial diabetic treatment

Galway bay fm newsroom - Researchers at NUI Galway have formulated a breakthrough gel to treat diabetic foot ulceration.The Regenerative Medicine Institute at the university partnered with Cardium Therapeutics to develop the gel to help reduce the number of amputations as a result of diabetes.The gel, which is in pre-clinical trials, is hoped to activate wound healing and accelerate the regeneration of tissue.
