NRA BLAMED FOR DELAYING WORK AT DANGEROUS MOYLOUGH JUNCTION

THE National Roads Authority is being blamed for calling off proposed works at a dangerous stretch of the N63 road near Moylough Grotto, the scene of 12 accidents in 8 months.
The work was set up and ready to go last Thursday by Galway Co Council, but it was called off by the NRA the previous evening, and sinage on the site had to be taken away by a County Council crew from Tuam.
The NRA now say that they are going to carry out the work themselves, but local Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Connolly says he will be keeping up the pressure on the NRA this week to get the work done here as a matter of urgency before any other accidents happen at this location.
