NO COMMENT FROM AVIVA ABOUT GALWAY JOBS

The Unite trade union says Aviva, which is a big employer in Galway, is refusing to confirm or deny reports it's planning to axe up to one thousand jobs.
Management at the insurance company would not confirm at a meeting yesterday, when the ongoing review of its Irish operations will be completed.
Aviva employs around 2-thousand people in Ireland, 200 of these are based at the call centre in Knocknacarra and the Eyre Square branch.
