NEW TRAINING PLACES FOR GALWAY JOBSEEKERS

Galway jobseekers are to be offered new training opportunity in three key sectors.

These include gaming, healthcare and social services and distribution and logistics.

The new scheme, called Momentum, is making 6,500 new training places available nationally to people on the dole.

It will help the unemployed learn skills in areas where there are job opportunities like digital media, sales and ICT.

The scheme not only targets the long term unemployed but also those under 25 through the Graduate Activation Programme.

Providers serving the Galway area include Clane College, Nifast, the Carers Association, City & Guilds Ireland and Eukon Training Consultants.
