NEW SUPPORT SERVICE FOR GALWAY CRIME VICTIMS

A support service for victims of crime in Galway will be launched in the city tonight. (17/04)

Victim Assistance is a voluntary body that provides confidential support to victims of crime and traumatic incidents.

A team of fully trained and Garda vetted volunteers will be available to carry out the service, which includes a call back facility, house visits and court accompaniment.

Former president of the European parliment Pat Cox will launch the Galway branch at The Carlton Hotel at 8pm.
