MOYCULLEN BYPASS HEARING CONCLUDES

The senior planning inspector involved in the oral hearing on the proposed Moycullen bypass is expected to give a recommendation for or against the project by the end of June.

Environmental campaigner Peter Sweetman made an oral submission to the bypass at todays hearing.

He said he wants to make sure that if it's approved, it's approved by Irish and European law.

Derek Daly of An Bord Pleanala concluded the three day hearing at the Westwood Hotel this afternoon.

He will now assess the information given prior to and during the hearing and prepare a report for the board, who will make its decision in due course.
