More time to submit further information on Galway Docks proposal

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Harbour Company has asked An Bord Pleanála for more time to submit further information about the expansion of Galway Docks. At the end of May the planning authority requested the Harbour Company to submit more information before a deadline of September 1st. The Harbour Company applied to An Bord Pleanála have the deadline extended to submit further information. It now has to submit more information about the major docks redevelopment by October 16th, with a final decision by An Bord Pleanála expected by November 28th. There have been more than 100 submissions on the proposed plans from groups such as C.I.E and Galway City Business Association and politicians such as Éamon Ó Cuív and Micheál Kitt. Galway County Council and Údarás na Gaeltachta have also lodged submissions to the multi-million euro docks plans which would allow the port to cater for much larger vessels.
