Minister to hear case for new unemployment service for Tuam

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Minister for Labour Activation will visit Tuam, Dunmore and Headford on Friday to hear the case for a new unemployment service for the region. Galway Labour Senator Lorraine Higgins invited Minister Kevin Humphreys to the town to discuss making Tuam a priority for a new Intreo Center to support the areas unemployed. Intreo is a new service being rolled out nationally that offers one-to-one employment services for jobseekers and works with local employers to provide training schemes to fill local skill shortages. Senator Higgins says that with the economy showing signs of recovery, now is the time to put training structures in place.
