MEP GALLAGHER SAYS HIGH LEVEL EU FISHERIES VISIT WAS USEFUL

MEP for the region Pat the Cope Gallagher has described this week's visit by a delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries as very useful in demonstrating the challenges faced by the Irish fisheries and seafood sector

The delegation visited Killybegs in Donegal and in Galway the Marine Institute in Oranmore

The high level delegation, who travelled to Ireland at the initiative of MEP Gallagher included German MEP Ulrike Rodust, Rapporteur for the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy and Scottish MEP Struan Stevenson, Rapporteur for the regulation on the Common Organisation of the Market in fish and fishery products.
