City manager Joe O' Neill has refused to answer questions on the civil action being taken against the council over the boiler blast at City Hall in June 2009.

At last evening's meeting of the local authority, Cllr Padraig Conneely asked when was the case lodged and does it involve a staff member or member of the public.

He added that he was entitled to ask these questions about an incident in which people could have been injured.

However, the city manager has said he won't be divulging the findings of the Health and Safety Authority report on the incident until the civil case is concluded.
