Management at the Western Alzheimers centre in Athenry is to meet with staff at the end of the month over an ongoing paycut dispute.

Up to 20 care assistants at the facility are calling for the reversal of a four percent cut to their hourly rate which was introduced last December.

The matter came before a Rights Commissioner appointed by the Labour Relations Commision last month.

The CEO of Western Alzheimers John Grant says that the cuts, which were taken across the board, were the only way to prevent job losses.

He's to meet with staff at the end of the month.
