Staff at Boots in Galway should ignore Mandate's call to go ahead with strike action on November 28th.That's according to Managing Director of Boots Ireland, Reese Mews who says the decision to go ahead with industrial action is invalid and unjustified. The Mandate Trade Union has served notice of industrial action on Boots stores throughout the country including the Galway store which employs 50 people.According to Mandate, Boots is trying to enforce pay cuts of up to 15 and a half per cent.Reese Mews says workers have received a 6 per cent increase in wages this year and adds that Mandate's actions are misguided. However, Jerry Light of Mandate says these wage increases are of no real benefit to staff.
