MAN STILL BEING HELD IN CONNECTION WITH CITY SHOOTING

A man is still being questioned by Gardaí this morning [17/8] in relation to a shooting at a house in Galway City in the early hours of yesterday.The shotgun attack took place at around 5.15 am at a house in Glenbaun, Ballybane.A car parked in front of the house was hit by the shotgun blast.A number of people were in the house at the time of the shooting but nobody was injured in the incident.Shortly after lunchtime yesterday they arrested a man and he was taken to Mill Street Garda Station.The man is being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 and he can be held for up to seven days.
