MAN CHARGED WITH CITY HOUSE SIEGE TO APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN

A man who is charged with barricading himself and a woman inside his home in the city last month and with obstructing Gardai, is due to appear in court again later this month [Sept 29]35 year old Damien McElroy of 30 John Coogan Park, Newcastle appeared before Harristown Court today.Damien McElroy is charged with barricading himself and a woman in the sitting room of his Newcastle home on August 30th by placing furniture against the door.He's also charged with resisting Gardai by refusing them entry, causing a breach of the peace.At Harristown Court, Judge Geoffrey Browne remanded McElroy in continuing custody to appear before Galway District Court on Monday week, September 29th.
