MAJOR WORKS TO BEGIN ON N17

Work to remove one of the most dangerous bends on the N17 will begin this month.

Realignment works between Tuam and Milltown at the Castletown junction are expected to begin in two weeks time.

Contracts were signed this week and work on the road is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

This is one of two projects that will eventually remove two bends on the N17.

Councillor Sean Canney explains the realignment works will dramatically improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.
