MAJOR INVESTMENT IN ROAD SAFETY WORKS IN BALLINDERREEN

Major funding has been secured for road safety measures in Ballinderreen.

The National Roads Authority is to invest 85 thousand euro to improve safety in the village.

The funding will go towards installing a signalised pedestrian crossing at Ballinderreen National School.

A new footpath will also be constructed to connect Ballinderreen's largest residential development Oakwood with the centre of the village.

Several other smaller measures will be carried out as part of the investment by the NRA.

A contractor will be appointed shortly and the works are due to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
