Magic of life celebrated in Dance

Tanya McRory moved to Galway from San Francisco five years ago and in that first year, when she was beginning to find her feet in the city, she worked as a volunteer at the Arts Festival.This year Tanya — who made history early last year by becoming Galway’s first ever Dancer in Residence — has her own show in the festival.The Projector of Dreams is written and directed by Tanya and Sven Werner and is about a day in the life of a woman named Grace. It is, she explains, a celebration of the everyday.Making her festival debut is a big achievement for a woman who realised when she came to live here that modern dance didn’t really exist in Galway.
