MACHINERY MOVES OFF MONIVEA SITE DUE TO ENFORCEMENT ORDER

Heavy machinery is being moved off the site of illegal land clearing at Kilskeagh hill, Monivea.One bulldozer has been moved off the site in the past few hours, and a second machine is ready to be moved now.The move follows an enforcement notice served by Galway County Council last friday after several acres of agricultural land were cleared without permission.Locals opposed to the work that was being carried out remained at the site all week, to ensure no further work was undertaken.
