Loughrea volunteers set for close shave in aid of cancer charity

Up to 30 volunteers will have a life changing experience tonight (Thursday) when they turn up to Beatty’s, Loughrea, for the ‘Shave or Dye’ fundraiser for The Irish Cancer Society.
The shop will host the event from 6.30-9.30pm, and for every €10 made on the night Beatty’s will donate a further €1.
It is all part of the Today FM initiative, which will raise funds for a charity close to the hearts of many.
“Sadly, it's a fact that many of us have lost a loved one to cancer or may have a family member/friend going through it right now,” one of the organisers said this week.
“This is such a great cause and needs all the support it can get. We would love support in huge numbers on the night.
“There’ll be fun auctions, with the highest bidder getting to shave a head! There’ll be promotions and special offers on the evening too.”
Donations can be made in person, or via the website www.mycharity.ie.
