LOUGHREA MEETING AMID FEARS OF JOB LOSSES

AN emergency meeting of all public representatives and Chamber of Commerce members in the Loughrea area has been called for this afternoon following speculation that three quarters of a workforce in a local company could be laid off on Monday.
Mayor of Loughrea Cllr James Regan has called the emergency meeting after news filtered through last night (Friday) that at least 30 jobs could go at a company based in the East side of the town.
The meeting of politicans and chamber members will take place in the Loughrea Hotel at 2 pm today.
