Lithuanian Man drowned in Moycullen lake

THE community in Moycullen is in shock today at the drowing of a Lithuanian man in a tragic accident in Ballyquirke Lake last evening.
Salthill Gardai say they understand that the man was swimming with friends.
The Salthill Gardai say he is 36 and had been living in the Moycullen area but his name is not being released until retaives in Lithuania have been contacted.
Irish Water Safety is appealing to people to stay safe around water today following the drowning of the man in Galway yesterday.
The 36 year old got into difficulty whilst swimming at Ballyquirke lake near Moycullen at around 7.30 yesterday evening.
With temperatures set to remain high today thousands are expected to take to the water to cool down.
