Galway Gardaí are not ruling out a possible link between an alleged sexual assault several weeks ago and the murder of a teenager this week in the same area of the city.17 year old Swiss student, Manuela Riedo was killed sometime between 7.30pm on Monday and 9.3am on Tuesday. Her body was found by a passerby on wasteland near Lough Atalia on a popular walking route from Renmore into Galway city.Gardaí are not ruling out the possibility that her murder could be linked to an alleged sexual assault that happened in the vicinity a few weeks ago.A man was arrested in relation to that alleged incident, but was later released while a file is being prepared for the DPP.Superintendent Tom Curley, who's leading the investigation into Manuela Riedo's death says they are keeping an open mind relation to any possible links.
