The jury in the trial of a man charged with withholding information during a Garda investigation into the killing last year of Oughterard publican and teacher, John Kenny, has retired to consider its verdict.

Former Galway bus depot security guard, 38 year old Florin Fitzpatrick, a Romanian National, denies a charge of withholding information from Gardaí, which might have been of assistance in the apprehension of people involved in Mr Kenny's death on September 25th last year.

Judge Gerard Griffin spent an hour and a half this morning charging the jury of six men and six women before they retired to the jury room at Galway Courthouse to consider their verdict shortly before 11.30.
