Jury reaches unanimous verdict of death by misadventure in Savita inquest
The jury in the inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar has reached a unanimous verdict of medical misadventure.
With regard to the Coroner's nine recommendations , the foreman of the jury said it strongly endorsed each of them after much consideration.
31 year old Savita died from septicaemia at University hospital Galway last October following a miscarriage.
The Coroner at the inquest which took place in county hall this week has offered Savita's husband Praveen his deepest sympathy.
Dr. Ciaran McLoughlin said he showed great loyalty to her and that all of Ireland has followed his story and on their behalf, he once again offered sincere condolences.
The Coroner stressed that the verdict of misadventure does not mean deficiencies or system failures led to her death and are findings in the course of her care.
