JURY FAILS TO REACH VERDICT IN TRIAL OF GALWAY MAN FOR RAPE

A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a Galway man accused of raping a neighbour in his marital home some 30 years ago.Mr Justice Peter Charleton this evening [tues nov 18] discharged and thanked the seven men and five women for their care and attention to a difficult case. He excused them from jury service for a period of seven years.
