A 19 year old Corofin man, who knew he would be getting a prison sentence within a matter of days for motoring offences, refused to give a Garda his name when arrested in Galway for roaring and shouting while drunk in a taxi rank.

Judge Mary Fahy said Kevin Carr, of Ardskeamore, Corofin, was “too cool for school” when he appeared before Galway District Court this week.

He pleaded guilty to breaching the peace at the taxi rank in Eyre Square on September 13 last and to giving a false name to Gardaí on the same date.
