JOB LOSSES AT FRIENDS FIRST GALWAY

147 jobs are to go at Friends First, which has a branch in Galway city.The financial services group is closing its asset finance division in Dublin with the loss of 98 jobs.The company, which also has offices at Liosbaun business park in the city and Cork, is seeking a further 49 redundancies on a voluntary basis by the end of the year, at these two branches.It says it's taken the decision because of the lack of available credit and the downturn in the Irish economy.
