Jack Lukeman, who plays the Galway Arts Festival next Tuesday, July 17, is in the middle of a whirlwind year.

He has just returned from USA where he did a run of shows, the highlight being a knockout performance at the prestigious Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the home of the New York Philharmonic, where he sang as lead vocalist with the legendary Nelson Riddle Orchestra, to an ecstatic reception.

In August, he will perform at Edinburgh Festival, for the third year in a row – this follows a week of sold-out shows there last year. Two years ago he won the Spotlight Award for “Best Musical Performance” His Galway Arts Festival show on Tuesday next is in the Róisín Dubh and will see Jack previewing parts of his new show, The 27 Club.

This is named for a remarkable group of artists who died at the age of 27. The show features the work of iconic singers such as Janis Joplin, The Doors, Robert Johnson, The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, The Bunnymen, Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana.

Jack will explore the legacy of these musical greats in a rip-roaring musical celebration of life.

Tickets are now on sale at The Róisín Dubh on 091 586540 and at The Arts Festival box office, 091 566577 or online at www.galwayartsfestival.com
