It's five-in-a-row for Jes squad in the Palmer Cup

Three times Oscar nominated award winning actress Annette Bening will give the Actors’ Masterclass at this year’s Film Fleadh and will be the subject of the Galway Film Fleadh Public Interview which will take place on Sunday July 11 at 3pm in the Town Hall Theatre.

It’s an all-star line up for this year’s Masterclasses as Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours and The Reader) will deliver the Directors’ Masterclass and Ronald Harwood (The Dresser, Being Julia, The Pianist, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) will give the Screenwriters’ Masterclass.

Annette Bening first came to the limelight in the film The Grifters (1990), which won her an Oscar nomination. The following year she appeared opposite her future husband Warren Beatty in Bugsy, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

After appearing in Tim Burton's sci-fi comedy Mars Attacks! Annette starred alongside Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington in the controversial thriller The Siege and teamed with Aidan Quinn for Neil Jordan's In Dreams.

In 1999, she gave a career-defining performance as the domineering real estate broker married to a man with a midlife crisis in the acclaimed American Beauty. This earned her an Academy Award and a Golden Globe nominations. Her performance in Being Julia won her a Golden Globe award and an Oscar nomination. Annette was most recently seen on the big screen in writer-director Rodrigo Garcia's Mother and Child, starring alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Naomi Watts.

English-born Stephen Daldry holds the distinction of being the only director to be nominated for an Oscar for his first three films – Billy Elliot, The Hours and The Reader.
