The Irish Nurses Organisation is outraged at the high number of patients waiting for a bed at University Hospital Galway. The latest trolley watch figures released by the INO today show that 33 people are waiting on trollies at the A and E unit at UHG. It's the highest figure in the country outside of Dublin and is just slightly down on yesterday's figure of 38 patients without beds. It follows the news that UHG is to be inclued in a nationwide review of emergency services ordered by the HSE.However, despite the high numbers of patients on trolleys at UHG each week, the HSE says it has no immediate plans to make any changes to A and E.
