Date Published: 31-Dec-2009

Hundreds of homes in Clifden are without power this morning after strong winds last night damaged power lines.

A spokesperson for the ESB has confirmed the town of Clifden has been without power since 10 o'clock last night.

Repair crews are already in place and searching the area for the source of the damage.

The ESB says arrangements are being put in place to restore power supplies to homes as soon as possible.
