HSE WEST TO TACKLE HIGH ABSENTEEISM

Absenteeism is costing the HSE Western region five million euro per month.

There are 11 hundred staff out of work each month, this week's meeting of the HSE West Regional Health Forum was told.

This represents 5 percent of the 27 thousand staff in the region with half of the absenteeisms recorded in frontline services.
