HSE SAY ST CLARE'S PORTIUNCULA WILL RE-OPEN IN JANUARY

St. Clare's Ward in Portiuncula Hospital which is due to close on Saturday week will re-open in January according to the HSEThere's been strong criticism of the decision to close the 28 bed surgical and gynaecology ward, due to staffing shortages elsewhere in the hospitalThe 25 nursing and other staff in the female ward will be dispersed to other wards in Portiuncula Hospital but the HSE have said that this is a temporary arrangement until January.However the HSE has declined to give an exact date in January as to when St Clare's will re-open
