HSE PULLS PLUG ON NEW BALLINASLOE COMMUNITY NURSING HOME

A new community nursing home for Ballinasloe, which was to begin construction early next year, will NOT now go ahead.Councillor Michael Mullins has been informed that the project has been taken out of the HSE's Capital Building Programme for 2009.This is despite planning permission being granted for the home by Ballinasloe Town Council last week.It was expected that, following the closure of St. Brendan's Home in Loughrea, some residents would move to the new Ballinasloe facility.Councillor Mullins says the Ballinasloe area is devastated by cutback.
