HOUSEHOLD CHARGE CAMPAIGN PROTEST IN GALWAY

Date Published: 25-Feb-2012
Up to 30 demonstrators marched to the city office of Galway TD Brian Walsh this afternoon against the household charge.
Holding placards and signs saying 'boycott the household tax' the group of men, women and children marched from Eyre Square to the Fine Gael TDs office in Bohermore.
There, they posted back Government leaflets on the household charge which were recently distributed to homes around the country.
The office at Bohermore is closed today, and Deputy Brian Walsh was unavailable for comment when contacted by Galway Bay FM News.
Earlier this month, the Galway campaign against household charge picketed the office of Labour TD Derek Nolan at the docks.
