HISTORIC BRITISH INSTITUTION CHOOSES GALWAY FOR AGM

The annual meeting of the botanical society of the British Isles gets underway in Galway next week.
It's the first time in the society's 175 years history the AGM will be held in Galway, and only the second time it's being held in Ireland.
The four day AGM, which will cover issues such as land-use, and vegetation change, will take place at NUI Galway from Saturday week Jun 18th.
Conference organiser and NUIG lecturer Dr.Micheline Sheehy- Skeffington says Galway was chosen because it's close to some of the best botanical regions in Ireland including the Burren, Connemara and the Aran Islands.
